Day 35 we rode from the lodge on Muncho Lake through the Northern Rockies to Dawson Creek. This ride in the beginning has to be one of my favorite rides. The roads were in good shape, the weather was very nice, the scenery spectacular. Once we were out of this area or the next 350 miles or so, it was a boring ride, but it started out great. We saw a young caribou, that required a hard brake on our part as it started to move towards the roadway, but turned away as we approached. We saw another black bear , and another dead black bear. Rene' saw a group of bears that I missed.
This leg of the trip was very heavy in bug strikes. I had to clean our helmet visors twice and we started out clean. The windscreen on the bike was clean when we started and almost totally covered in sticky multi colored bug goo.
We met a couple of motorcyclist from Rhode Island who were very pleasant to talk to. Today is one of their birthdays, 71 today. They are headed up to Alaska. There is a few videos, some of them long, but they show the beauty of this area and the riding that is available.
Tomorrow we head to Hinton, which is a little north east of Jasper. Cheaper lodging I think, although not cheap. We will be there I think six nights and we will explore the area. Maybe even get a photography tour. Tomorrow's ride is 290 miles.
