Wildfires. We were lucky we did not encounter an wildfires except for the heavy smoke in Fairbanks from a wildfire. The day we left the Denali National Park area a wildfire broke out on the very trail system we were hiking the day before. We now are learning that there is a large wildfire in Jasper that has entered the town and effected half the structures there. Jasper is a pretty big town so this is devastating to the people there. Jasper was an old western town so a lot of history there.
